Why dating?

Introduction

A few of my close girl-friends have recently started dating.  One is divorced, one has never dated at all and one should be dating but can't seem to get past the one who is definitely NOT "the one".

Ok, my original inspiration for creating a blog was from hearing stories of the unsuccessful first dates.  I was going to "offer advice" to men who were looking for a little bit of help, or advice, from women, when making decisions about things that they should say (or not say) and do (or not do) and heaven help us all, touch (OR NOT TOUCH).  (I am by no means an expert but when preparing to go on a date with a woman, who would it be better to listen to a woman? or a man?  Anyways, I'll bring that all back up later.) However, as things have developed I am thinking maybe it should just be about dating in general for both men and women, mainly online dating.  Which, lets admit it, is there really any other kind these days? 

So, in a nutshell, I guess this is where I will vent my frustrations about what dating has become, discuss why we feel the way we do and be blunt about why we can't seem to make it all work.  I will also be trying to figure out why it is that we, as women, seem so confusing to SOME men when we feel like we are simple and men are confusing... maybe some men can help answer some of our questions as well.
